Forum for the Future                                                                                                                                  Forum for the Future is an independent, non-profit company which help businesses and public service providers to understand and manage the risks that change will bring, to find new opportunities in tackling these global challenges, to implement their own commitments to social and environmental responsibility. They are committed to promoting sustainable development and produce a magazine called Green Futures.

Green Globe 21 is an association that specializes in developing environmental management programmes for parties in the travel and tourism sector, as well as bettering the understanding of these. There are 3 parties linked to Green Globe 21 in Iceland, but far more are linked in other countries.

IISD
The International Institute for Sustainable Development operates a comprehensive site with a wealth of information and news. It has an option for receiving weekly news bulletins of academic papers published on environmental issues.
ISO
ISO (International Organization for Standardization) produces a number of guidelines that are used in the environmental management field, in particular the ISO 14000 series and, to a lesser extent, the ISO 9000 series which deals with quality management.
MERI
Marine Environment Research Institute (US-based) does scientific research on the impacts of persistent pollutants such as PCBs on marine mammals, including belugas.
SERI
The Sustainable Environment Research Institute is a body researching sustainable development in Europe. Somewhat academic.

SEU
SEU, the Socio-Economic Union, is a Rumanian-based organization dealing with ecological issues in the former USSR and Eastern Europe.

It operates internationally from the UK, US and Australia.

UNEP World Conservation Monitoring Centre
UNEP World Conservation Monitoring Centre was established in 2000 as the world biodiversity information and assessment centre of the United Nations Environment Programme. The WCMC provides information for policy and action to conserve the living world.

It is host to EarthTrends, a comprehensive online database regarding the environmental, social, and economic trends that shape our world. EarthTrends offers the public a large amount of statistical, graphic, and analytical data in easily accessible formats
World Wildlife Fund
World Wildlife Fund is an international organization that works on issues related to climate change, forests, marine life (including belugas), threatened species and toxic chemicals.
